Tools to Help You Tweet
by Kerrie Candrick
Twitter is the fastest growing social network at the moment. Last month the number of tweets per day worldwide had climbed to 50 million.
A fantastic tool for small business, Twitter enables you to connect not only with other entrepreneurs but also other companies, potential clients and customers, marketing companies and more. Tips, connections and opportunities gained from Twitter can help you to grow your business and brand.
Twitter also helps you to promote your blog posts, your services, special offers, events, expertise and direct people to your website.
So how do you start making the most of this free communications tool?
Here are a few free applications to help make your tweeting life easier:
Tweetdeck is a free tool you can download to your desktop which helps you to easily tweet, keep track of people you are following on Twitter, easily see mentions of your name, receive direct messages and keep track of your new followers. Tweetdeck also helps you to keep track of your LinkedIn connections and your Facebook page updates.
Twellow is like a Yellow Pages for Twitter. It is a directory of public Twitter accounts, with hundreds of categories and search features to help you find people who matter to you. You can list yourself and your business on it and conduct searches for relevant people or potential customers you may wish to follow and connect with.
Friend or Follow is a handy little tool which shows you who you are following that is not following you back and vice versa.
SocialOomph is a free tool which allows you to pre-schedule tweets. You can schedule twitter updates to be tweeted even a week ahead. Be careful though as duplicate tweets are not allowed by Twitter.
There are loads more applications which can be used of course but these will get you started in your tweeting career!
