What Key Marketing Messages do you want to tell your prospects?
Once you know who it is that you want to communicate with (your market segments and ideal clients) you need to develop your consistent and compelling key marketing messages.
Key messages are the core message you want your target audiences to hear and remember. They need to grab the attention of your prospects, tell them how you can solve their problems, why they should trust you to do so, how you have helped others in a similar situation and why they should choose to do business with you rather than anyone else...
Resist what we refer to as "the three little pigs syndrome" - this is where you are telling the reader all about what you do (we we we) rather than what's in it for them...
Once you have developed your key marketing messages you should start to use them consistently across all areas of your marketing such as:
- Promotional Materials
- Website content
- Email newsletters
- Business Cards
- Proposals
- Presentations
- Advertisements
- Trade show displays
- Stationery and invoices.....
In essence, any form of external communication that you use should include parts of or even all of your marketing messages - even your outgoing faxes, invoices and your telephone answering service can and should incorporate parts of your marketing messages.
