Business to Business Strategic Alliances

A strategic alliance is a marketing partnership where two small businesses work together for mutual benefit to generate sales – a great example is the partnership between the Flying Fox Café and Blaxland Studios. A sales promotion, a “Free Family Photo Day” was held at the café where the café customers were offered the opportunity to have a professional photo shoot of their children in the park adjoining the café, returning to the café a week later to collect their free portrait.

The event was promoted via flyers distributed throughout the local area and through the customers of the two businesses and publicity was generated with local press. The cross promotion allowed the café the opportunity to reward their existing clients and attract new customers whilst Blaxland Studios developed a new database of potential clients who had already experienced their service.
